For award winning photographer Tracy Woolley, the road to success has meandered through beautiful places and her inspirational images have brightened the days of many.
This week even more people became aware of Tracy when she became the featured member on both the
Women's Network Australia and the
Australian Business Women's Network websites.
"I couldn't believe I had been recognised by both organisations on the same week," she said.
While spending a year sailing around the Pacific with three of her five children in 2000, Tracy discovered a knack of taking beautiful images. Apparently conceived on Mooloolaba Beach, she returned to the Sunshine Coast to make photography her career.
Since then she has been awarded numerous accolades including an honourable mention at the
International Photographic Awards 2006 & 2007 in the United States, and six awards at the
International Association of Panoramic Photographers.
Watching people's reaction to her beautiful images online at www.nautilusgallery.com led Tracy to want to inspire people in other ways too. Late 2006 she started
Inspire your Day and has been responsible for bringing international speakers to Australia. Members of her website are woken up with a free inspirational quote every day.
"The response has been incredible," said Tracy.
"So far this year the website has attracted over 1.5 million hits from all over the world and I have subscribers from as far as Norway!"
For one member, Laren Egervary,
Inspire your Day has really changed her life.
Coomera resident Lauren was diagnosed with inoperable cancer on her 46th birthday two years ago. Since then, her life has been understandably challenging. A friend just recently suggested she look at a PowerPoint presentation on Tracy's site.
"I have never seen anything so beautiful and I cried," she said.
"It touched my soul, not merely my heart and mind and has inspired me, I adore photography, want to inspire people and love nature."
Tracy is not a woman to sit still for long, and recent events in Burma spurred her into action. Together with a north Queensland cyclone-proof cabin builder she has approached international aid agencies with the idea of supplying building kits for cyclone ravished areas. Members of
Inspire Your Day have put their hands in the pockets to fund the project.
"Whatever the method, helping people is very rewarding," said Tracy.
"I couldn't sit back and watch the Burmese suffer without trying to help."
Whether she is inspiring people with images, or wonderful words, Tracy Woolley has found her niche in the world. As her quote said this morning,
"Anything that begins with joy ends with success."
